“I am going to play from several of my own
pieces from
my repertoire.
Starting with a piece that has a title that
is a "jeux de mot".
The piece is "Extraordinary Rendition" and
involves a transformation of John Coltrane's "Giant
Steps" in to all twelve musical keys. So not only is it
a reference to the ongoing questionably legal act of the
transportation of uncharged individuals by the CIA to
other countries, but also a delightful rendition of the
harmonic richness of famous jazz tune from the
'50s.
Keeping with this theme
...
"Times Remembered" for electronics and piano
is an extension of the Bill Evans tune "Time Remembered"
the electronics were created using resonate filters
tracking the chordal structure of the
piece.
"She is almost forgotten" is a piece
originally written in memory of a lost
soul.
If time allows and it seems appropriate I may
perform a small part of the piece that I am preparing
for the opening concert of the Festival Nuit
d'Hiver #9 for guitar and electronics ... "The
Culture of Fire"
L'IMéRA
se trouve en centre ville, sur le site de
l'ancien observatoire de Marseille qui jouxte le parc
Longchamp, sur la gauche quand on fait face au Palais
Longchamp.
Vous
pouvez accéder à pied à l'IMéRA par le portail 2 place
Le Verrier (ou Leverrier) - cette place se
trouve sur le bd Camille Flammarion - (station de
tramway Lonchamp ou métro Cinq avenues-Longchamp).
Si
vous souhaitez venir en voiture, il faut passer par le
boulevard Cassini, entrer dans la place Louis Rafer et
monter la ruelle qui part du fond de la place. Le
portail de l'IMéRA est le dernier en haut à droite. Vous
pouvez vous garer facilement.
La
Maison des astronomes de l'IMéRA se trouve à gauche
en haut des escaliers depuis la place Le Verrier, et
tout droit, au bas de la descente, quand on entre par le
portail "voitures".
